Definition
Amazon classifies an item as meltable when it can melt, deform, or otherwise be damaged at temperatures commonly experienced in fulfillment centers, transit trucks, or last-mile vehicles. This usually means products that begin to soften somewhere around 75°F – 90°F (24°C – 32°C).
Common meltable product categories
- Chocolate and chocolate-coated snacks
- Gummy candy, jellies, and marshmallows
- Lip balm, lipstick, and certain solid cosmetics
- Crayons, wax-based art supplies
- Candles, wax melts, scented wax cubes
- Some protein bars and energy bars containing chocolate
- Coconut oil and certain solid cooking fats
Amazon's meltable inbound window
Amazon typically only accepts meltable inventory inbound to FBA from April 20 through September 28. Outside that window, meltable shipments may be refused, returned, or destroyed at the seller's expense.
How to check if your ASIN is meltable
Use the search above or on the homepage to instantly check any ASIN against the imported Amazon meltable ASIN list. For the authoritative source, always confirm in Seller Central before creating an inbound plan.
Tips for selling meltable products
- Switch to FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) during the warm months
- Use insulated packaging or ice packs for borderline items
- Plan inventory pushes for the Oct 16 – Apr 15 window
- Monitor reviews for melt-related complaints to catch reclassification early
